The Virginia Biosolids Council is exhibiting once again at the State Fair of Virginia. After a brief pause in 2020 due to Covid-19, fair goers are returning to Meadow Event Park to take in the sites and learn about agriculture and forestry in Virginia.
According to Marlene Joliffe, Executive Director of the State Fair of Virginia, “Our primary goal for this fair was to open, and we have checked that box, and our second goal is to hold the fair safely. We’re happy that people chose to come out to the fair today, and our focus is not counting them, but rather working to protect their health and ensuring they have fun. We are also thrilled that fairgoers are able to experience live events once again and expect heavy attendance this upcoming weekend!”
In addition to the many school groups, families and fairgoers who have stopped by the Virginia Biosolids Council exhibit, VBC staff was pleased to greet Governor Ralph Northam, who along with his entire agriculture and forestry team, was touring the fair.
The Virginia Biosolids Council looks forward continuing to educate the public on the beneficial use of biosolids, from farming to gardening, at the State Fair in future years.
